Overview > The Electronic Facilities Records™ (EFR) Concept

You are probably aware of the concept of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) that provides different medical practitioners with access to centralized patient data to improve health care application and efficiency.

Professionals ranging from general practitioners and physician’s assistants to surgeons and specialists can all access and update a patient’s medical records that continue to evolve and increase in volume during the life of that person. Centralized access to patient data typically results in more efficient care and healthier patients given the complexity and interdependency of the human body’s various systems.

The Electronic Facilities Records™ (EFR™) concept applies this same principal to data about physical buildings and plant infrastructure which currently tends to reside in discrete storage silos, the use of which is restricted to specific disciplines such as design, construction and project management, subcontractors, etc.

By providing an easy, flexible way to create, store, manage user access, and maintain project-, facility- and campus-related infrastructure data, the MasterLibrary EFR system provides value to anyone involved in any of the four primary aspects of the life of a facility: plan, design, build and manage.

Moreover, every type of user can quickly and easily reap real-world value from the ML system regardless of what part of the facility or system lifecycle their business focuses on.
