As any facility professional will tell you, managing facilities is a major juggling act. You need to be hyper-aware of the day to day maintenance and "fires" that pop up, think long-term regarding the lifecycle of your buildings and assets, be the financial steward- setting priorities and budgets and be a leader and mentor to your staff. For school districts, keeping all of these balls in the air with limited staff and budget is next to impossible. There are trade-offs and wish lists that inevitably occur. At MasterLibrary, our strength has always been our knowledge and management of facilities and their lifecycles. All buildings go through a plan-design-build-manage model and having data and tools at each stage is critical for the long term health and planning of your buildings. As such, we have resources and services outside of software that help school districts get to their facility wish lists and support their long term goals.
According to a study conducted by SEIA (Solar Energy Industries Association) in conjunction with 450 school districts across the country, the average energy savings per district over thirty years by installing a solar PV system equates to more than $1,000,000. Going green is more than a global environmental movement, it’s a legitimate opportunity to reduce energy costs at your district in an impactful way. We take a closer look at how school districts are embracing clean energy and some resources to learn more.
